StubHub Suspends Sales of Tickets for BCS Title Game

Updated

Ticketing website StubHub has suspended sales of tickets for next weeks Bowl Championship Series title football game because one seller did not have enough tickets to fill orders.

On Wednesday, StubHub removed all tickets to Monday's game between Auburn and Oregon, according to The Associated Press. On Thursday, the company e-mailed all fans who had already bought tickets, offering them a full refund and an extra payment of twice the ticket price.

So if a fan bought a ticket for $1,000, StubHub offered them $3,000.

StubHub says it should be able to satisfy all the orders that couldn't be filled. The site plans to bill the seller for the extra costs.

"We wanted to make sure we made good on all of our transactions," Ferrer said.

StubHub is an online platform for buying and selling tickets. It is not a ticket broker.
