Restaurant.com Coupon for 70% Off

Get a $25 gift certificate to your favorite restaurant for just $3 at Restaurant.com. Sound like a scam? It's not. Restaurant.com sells $25 certs for $10. Use coupon code PLATE to get 70% off, bringing down the cost to just $3. The deal expires Jan. 9, 2011, at 11:59 p.m. PST.

There are some tricks to redeeming the gift certificate, however. Look for a minimum food spend amount that is above and beyond the gift certificate total (like $35 or even $50). Alcohol, tax, and tip are excluded from the total, and you can only use one certificate per table. Some eateries even limit the days and times you can use the certificates.

When I redeem a Restaurant.com gift certificate, I let the server know as I order that I'd like to use the certificate on my bill. That gives him/her the opportunity to let me know about any rules that apply.

Caveats: A few of the $25 gift certificates are priced at $15, not $10. The coupon code is not valid on previously placed orders and cannot be combined with other promotions or offers.
