Updated

President Obama will name former Commerce Secretary William Daley as the new White House chief of staff, AOL's Politics Daily confirmed on Thursday. Daley, 62, an attorney, is the Midwest chief for JPMorgan Chase -- who ran Vice President Gore's 2000 presidential campaign and the Florida recount drive -- met Wednesday with Obama at the White House. Daley comes on board as the Obama team is gearing up for the 2012 re-election campaign.
