Kate and Will Tour Hot Attraction in London
In anticipation of Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding on April 29, Celebrity Planet, which specializes in celebrity and pop culture tours, fashioned a 2.5-hour jaunt around London featuring sites as varied as where the couple lives to Mahiki, their favorite nightclub, to Westminster Abbey, where their wedding will take place.
James Bonney, who owns Celebrity Planet, also offers tours focused on Harry Potter, The Beatles, Notting Hill, 007, Princess Diana and Jack the Ripper.
Bonney has no illusions that his tour will be the only one with an eye on the latest royal couple. When asked by the Daily Mail if others have copied his ideas, he sighed.
"People have already done it with Harry Potter, for example. All you can do is to be the best in the business. This is a free market and this is business."
Of course, no royal family tour would be complete without references to Princess Diana, William's famous mother, so tour-goers will also see where Prince Charles bought Diana's engagement ring, at Garrard's, which is now worn by Kate.
Other stops on the $23 tour include the birthplace of Queen Elizabeth II, William's grandmother; the Ritz Hotel, where the tour guide references the Paris Ritz, where Princess Diana so famously fled from the paparazzi and subsequently died; White's Gentleman's Club, where Prince Charles spent the night before marrying Diana; the Queen's Chapel, where Kate attended the wedding of the Queen's cousin Lady Rose Windsor; and Buckingham Palace, home to the royal family since 1836.
