iPhone 4 Tops eBay's 'Top Shopped' List

Updated

eBay (EBAY) has released its "Top Shopped" report for 2010 -- and Apple products dominate. The report's lists, the company explains, give insight into the trends that drew the most shoppers for the year.

The iPhone 4 (AAPL) was the leader among eBay's picks for America's "top shopped" and "pop culture obsessions" of 2010, with about 1.6 million related items sold. The smartphone was followed by Barbie (MAT) at 1.2 million; military jackets at 1 million; Hot Wheels at 748,000; and the iPad at 621,000.

In other lists -- "top shopped in style" and "fashion obsessions" in 2010 -- military jackets came in first, followed by plaid, the 1950s and neon.

The various eBay lists overlap, making them a little difficult to sort out, but any way you look at them, Apple products were hugely popular in 2010. The auction site said in its "Gotta-have Gadgets: One company produced two of the year's most coveted new devices: Apple's iPhone 4 and iPad. Apple's flagship products conquered the tech scene as well as pop culture and were wanted by everyone from avid readers to families, gear geeks and anyone interested in the latest must-have."
