Woman Left Kids in Casino Hotel While She Gambled
Connecticut State Police spokesman Lieutenant J. Paul Vance says Sreynoeu Pith, 32, of Providence, R.I., was charged with risk of injury to a minor and released on $2,500 bond.
The kids were discovered after the boy came to the lobby of the hotel to look for his mother.
The Connecticut State Police Casino Unit, which has officers stationed at the casino, located the mother on the gaming floor, Vance says.
He adds such incidents are rare. "It doesn't happen often," Vance says, "But we are very strict with enforcement of that law."
The children were turned over to their father, who was also at the casino. The Department of Children and Families was notified about the incident.
Pith is scheduled to be arraigned in January.
