Little Bear Parsley and Cilantro Recalled Over Salmonella Fears

Updated

J&D Produce Inc.

recalled almost 7,000 cases of Little Bear curly parsley and cilantro from 14 states and Canada after samples tested positive for salmonella, the Edinburg, Tex. company said.

The fresh herbs were packed under the Little Bear brand name between Nov. 30 and Dec. 6 and were distributed to retailers and wholesalers.

Salmonella can cause a possibly fatal infection in the very young or those with weakened immune systems. Even normally healthy consumers can suffer fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and stomach pain from the bacteria.
