Pilot Fired for Kissing Flight Attendant in Cockpit

A SpiceJet pilot has lost his bid to get his license reinstated after he was suspended for allegedly kissing a flight attendant against her will in the cockpit.

The incident reportedly happened on a flight from Delhi to Cochin in September. The pilot was immediately suspended.

"The air hostess went inside the cockpit and the pilot suddenly kissed her there. The girl was too stunned to react at which the pilot kissed her again," reports the Times of India.

"Then, she left the cockpit after that and the pilot may have followed her right to the start of the passenger cabin to possibly apologize," the newspaper quotes unnamed sources as saying.

India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation has rejected the pilot's plea to get back in the cockpit, the newspaper says. Aviation regulator Bharat Bhushan ruled that an apology from the grounded pilot is not enough to allow him to return to his job.

SpiceJet is not commenting on the incident or the pilot's punishment.
