Gifts Wrapped on the Fly at Some Airports

Air travelers have been warned not to bring wrapped Christmas gifts in their carry-on bags because Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers will have to open them. But at four airports, once you clear security, you can get your gifts wrapped for free.

In California, the San Francisco International Airport is offering the complimentary service in all three terminals and the San Diego International Airport is running its free wrapping program until Dec. 24 in Terminals 1 and 2 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has wrappers on duty until Dec. 23 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Terminal 4. Donations will be accepted for United Way charities.

In a bit of marketing self-promotion, the Philadelphia International Airport has USO volunteers wrapping gifts through December 24, but only on purchases made at airport stores.
