The 43-foot faux tree at the Emirates Palace comes decorated with gem-studded bows and gold ornaments, a spectacular display that totals $11 million.
The tree is far from out of place at the extravagant hotel, which has its own marina and heliport, and even a vending machine that doles out small gold bars.
Hans Olbertz, the hotel's general manager, told local newspapers he commissioned one of the hotel's jewelers to create the ornaments, which are made from precious stones and real gold.
The hotel may soon be contacting the Guiness World Records to put in a bid for the world's most expensive Christmas tree, outdoing a $10.8 million tree fabricated in Tokyo in 2002.
