President Barack Obama is meeting with 20 top CEOs today as he seeks to improve relations with the business community.

The invitation list largely shuns Wall Street in favor of high-flying tech companies. Eric Schmidt of Google (GOOG) will be there, as will Paul Otellini of Intel (INTC), according to CNN.

Obama will discuss issues including tax reform, the deficit and clean energy with the group, which also includes Kenneth Chenault of American Express (AXP) and Jeffrey Immelt of General Electric (GE).

The business community has been intensely critical of Obama, saying that his policies on the Bush tax-cuts and health care have stifled investment and slowed the economic recovery.

This meeting may be an attempt to extend a welcome to the business community and deflect charges of an anti-business bias

"It's a great step he's taking, meeting with CEOs," General Electric's Immelt said, according to Bloomberg News.
