U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner was hospitalized Friday to undergo surgery for kidney stones, according to a MarketWatchreport.

Geithner, who was admitted into George Washington University hospital this morning, is expected to undergo surgery later today. According to the report, Geithner is expected to be sent home Saturday, should be able to return to work on Monday -- providing he rests over the weekend.

According to medical websites, the creation of kidney stones is unrelated to stress. For Geithner, whose is facing a rising wave of criticism from conservatives, that's probably a good thing.
