J&J Recalls Rolaids Over Metal, Wood Particles

Updated

Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) is recalling packages of Rolaids medicines distributed in Canada after consumers complained of finding materials including particles of metal and wood in the products.

McNeil Consumer Healthcare, a unit of Johnson & Johnson, said it is recalling all lots of Rolaids Ultra Strength SoftChews and Rolaids Ultra Strength SoftChews plus Gas Relief.

The total number of packages recalled is more than 13 million, according to CNN.

A third-party manufacturer may have introduced the foreign materials into the product, McNeil said.

"While the risk of serious adverse health consequences is remote, McNeil Consumer Healthcare advises consumers who have purchased these recalled products to discontinue use," the company said.
