George Lucas Spends $20M on Beach Home

The "Star Wars" creator apparently negotiated more than 20 percent off the $24.95 million list price of this Santa Barbara-area home if he indeed sealed the deal for $19.5 million, as reported by the Real Estalker.
That price is quite a blow to the sellers of the 3,540-square-footer at 3389 Padaro Lane given it was originally listed for a whopping $37.5 million in July 2008, way more than the $27 million they paid for it in August 2006.
Touted as a "private paradise" in the listing details, the 1.7-acre property holds a 4-bedroom main house with walls of glass facing the beach, and a 2-bedroom guest house with ocean views. There is also a long and narrow outdoor pool, an exercise room and yoga room.
Coldwell Banker agent Randy Solakian was a bit hush-hush in the details about the interior amenities that even the listing sheet only shows the exterior. Still, one can peek inside several rooms in this one wide shot of the home taken with all the interior lights on.
When contacted by HousingWatch for more details about the 1980-built home, Solakian said, "I must guard all
One sees that there is a brick-paver patio with a low stone wall, as well as a wood plank deck around the lap pool, which appears to point to the ocean.
A view of the house from the beach reveals the mountain backdrop, and another photo shows what is perhaps the front yard. The three remaining images, here, here and here, show patio shots as taken from various angles in the yard.
As for Lucas, who once said he never learned how to swim, we hope he enjoys his new abode inside and out.
