Reese Witherspoon Buys New House for $7M

Reese Witherspoon has every reason to be happy -- a new life, a new boyfriend and a new $7 million house. Witherspoon's gain is apparently Steven Seagal's loss (though not really!) -- since the action star is the seller of the sprawling Brentwood, Calif., home. Curbed.com has the scoop.

Reese Witherspoonand new boyfriend Jim Toth have been gracing the covers of gossip magazines neon and bright lately, and here's more proof that the starlet is distancing herself from ghosts of romances past. Witherspoon has just spent $7M on actor Steven Seagal's 6,125-square-foot Brentwood, Los Angeles estate, which boasts seven bedrooms, a pool, and an on-grounds Buddhist temple. She had formerly been living in the manse she once shared with Ryan Philippe; coincidentally, Philippe has just sold his Hollywood Hills bachelor pad for $7.2M.
