Costco Reports 9% Increase in Nov. Comparable Sales

Costco Wholesale Corp. (COST) said sales at stores open at least one year rose 9% in the four weeks ending Nov. 28, compared with the same period a year ago.

Comparable sales in the U.S. rose 7%, while comparable sales at international stores gained 13%, the company said in a statement.

For the 13-week period ending Nov. 28, comparable sales rose 7%.

The company reported net sales of $6.78 billion for the four weeks ended Nov. 28, up 12% from a year earlier.

The figure included sales from Costco's joint Mexico venture, the company said in a statement. Without those sales, the increase would have been 9%.

For the 13 weeks ending Nov. 28, Costco posted net sales of $20.59 billion, up 11% from a year earlier. Excluding Mexico sales, the increase would have been 8%.
