Grab your holy hand grenades, because U.K. developer Zattikka has officially nabbed the license to create Monthy Python games on social networks. The first target will, of course, be Facebook. The game will reportedly honor all that is Monthy Python with the Monty Python team overseeing the project, especially Terry Gilliam, whose art style is said to be found throughout, according to Zattikka external producer Jim McDonagh.

"Knowing they are looking over our shoulder has inspired the entire team to create a game that will live up to the standards set by the Pythons themselves and delivers a fantastic experience for the fans," McDonagh says. More details will be given concerning the games this December, but Zattikka CEO Tim Chaney is already confident that Python's first game on Facebook will be a hit.

"By acquiring these rights we will be transporting Monty Python into the 21st Century, with a totally new experience for their unique comedy that will delight old and new fans alike," Chaney claims. "Forget Web 2.0, this is Python two point one and three quarters"

If this game somehow involves launching cows as siege weapons and killer rabbits, then there's no way this game could possibly fail. Stay tuned here for more details next month, because there is no way we're going to let this one slip past.
