Baking Life has changed today from just using Facebook Credits for buying premium currency items, to now using Zip Cash instead. While this might seem like a huge change, it will be fairly transparent for players because Zip Cash can only be purchased with Facebook Credits. Zip Cash is named for the game's developer, ZipZapPlay.

Zip Cash is priced at what seems like a reasonable price, and the official Zip Cash FAQ does state that prices haven't changed for items. As an introductory perk, Baking Life have given all players 5 free Zip Cash, which is actually enough to buy some of the cheaper items in the game.

Baking Life are not the first game to do this. Nightclub City, in fact, just migrated over to their own currency a few weeks back. Why do developers do this? Well, the answer is pretty simple. When a game uses Facebook Credits, the official currency controlled by Facebook, they don't have much control over it. They cannot give out free Facebook Credits, similar to the way FarmVille might give out Farm Cash in Mystery Boxes or while leveling up. Having your own interim currency means that Baking Life can now give out Zip Cash whenever they want and it will benefit players. It does mean that if you convert your Facebook Credits into Zip Cash, you will only be able to spend them in Baking Life and not your other favorite Facebook games.

What do you think of the change? Do you think this will be a good thing for Baking Life or not? Leave a comment and let us know!
