Former BP CEO Hayward Considers Career Options

Updated

Former BP (BP) CEO Tony Hayward is considering several career options since losing his job in the wake of the Gulf oil disaster.

Hayward is involved in the formation of a small company registered as 3E Capital, The Daily Telegraph reported. Hayward is listed as a director in the company, holding 100 shares.

3E is a vehicle for an energy-advisory business, The Daily Telegraph said.

Hayward currently holds a post as a non-executive director of Anglo-Russian venture TNK-BP. He has received overtures from several businesses but is thought o be delaying major decisions until 2011.

Hayward faced an onslaught of criticism for his handling of the Gulf oil disaster, which killed 11 people and left waters, beaches and wildlife fouled with crude oil.

He committed numerous media blunders such as saying "I want my life back" and taking part in a U.K. yacht race during the crisis.

In a recent interview, Hayward said that he would have handled the media better if he'd been a qualified actor, rather than a geologist.
