Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong Will Have 118th Floor Pool
The current record for the highest hotel pool is the infinity pool on the edge of the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, an open-air pool perched 55 stories up. Like the Marina Bay Sands, the Ritz-Carlton pool will also be an infinity pool, but it will be located indoors.
The hotel in the making will be the flagship property for the Ritz-Carlton in Asia, occupying levels 102 to 118 of the International Commerce Centre. The top16 floors will contain 312 guest rooms, as well as a spa, gym and six dining options, including an alfresco rooftop bar. The rest of the International Commerce Centre -- soon to be the tallest building in Hong Kong -- will include luxury residential and retail space.
"Occupying the top 16 floors of the ICC tower in Hong Kong is a truly unique location for a hotel, offering panoramic views across Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island. Modern in design, the hotel will be the heart and soul of Kowloon and will attract visitors from all over the world for its world-class style, design, service and its landmark location," said Simon Cooper, president and COO of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company in a press release.
All rooms have been design by Japan's Spin Studio, and are set to include WiFi, iPod docking stations and flat screen TVs. A Deluxe Harbour Room will start at 50 square meters (165 square feet), and the Ritz-Carlton Suite will be a whopping 365 square meters (1,200 square feet).
The spa located on the 116th floor will feature nine deluxe treatment rooms and two couples suites, each with floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views. There will also be an elaborately decorated grand ballroom with space to host weddings, galas and other events.
The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong is set to open March of next year. Rates at the hotel will start at 4,500 HKD, or $580, a night.
