BlackRock: New York City Offices Adding 500 Jobs
BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, will add 500 jobs at its New York offices, reports Fins Finance. Black Rock also confirms its plans to keep its headquarters in Manhattan.
Those BlackRock jobs will be phased in. About 300 will be filled by 2011. The remaining 200 will be added in the next four years. If you are based outside New York, still check its career site for what's available in your region.
Like most financial institutions, BlackRock hires in two categories: entry level and experienced. Some hires are directly from college campuses.
As BlackRock's career site explains, it offers employeese in both categories -- entry-level and seasoned -- formal training and development programs. Those programs provide the edge you can gain by joining a financial services corporation: In addition, the organizational culture of these institutions tends to be more of a meritocracy. Those who understand what to accomplish and achieve those goals can usually shift around to the important and well-paying positions in the corporation.
