Cash in $5 or more worth of coins at a Coinstar machine through Nov. 24, 2010, and get a $5 off coupon good at Borders on a purchase of $25 or more and a gift certificate for the full value of your coins. Normally, Coinstar takes a 10% cut for counting your coins and converting them into dollar bills.

Borders is one of 17 stores that offer a gift certificate for your coins without the 10% penalty. Albertsons, Amazon, Amazon MP3, CVS, Athleta, Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, Piperlime, iTunes, JCPenney, Lowe's, Overstock, Regal Entertainment Group, Rixty, and Starbucks gift certificates are also available through Coinstar, though only Borders offers the coupon.

That's a top notch selection of retailers to chose from. Why not buy a Christmas present with the certificate or pass on the certificate as a gift?

Caveats: you must be a member of Borders' free loyalty program, Borders Rewards, to use the $5 off coupon. Unclear when the coupon expires.
