Five Great Las Vegas Spas

Las Vegas Spas

Las Vegas boasts more than just girls, gambling and great shows. "Sin City" also boasts some of the country's most luxurious restaurants, resorts, and shows. But when it's an afternoon or a day away from the ding, ding, ding of slot machines that you crave, look no further than the myriad of Las Vegas spa options available. Far from just your basic mani-pedi joint or massage parlor, these five great Las Vegas spa resorts offer larger-than-life facilities, top-notch treatment menus and relaxation lounges that will invite you to curl up with mug of tea and relax the day -- or last night's excesses -- away.

Here are five of our favorite Las Vegas spas:

Qua Baths & Spa at Caesars Palace

Modeled after traditional Roman Baths, this oversized Las Vegas spa inside Caesars Palace offers the ideal space to zen out. Swim in heated "baths" or pools at varying temperatures ranging from hot tub hot to chilled plunges, sweat it out in the sauna or steam room, or try out the Arctic Room (it snows when you enter!) for a cold therapy experience. The top-notch therapists can guide you through the extensive menu of services, but we'd suggest you book their signature Hourglass Rituals, where you simply reserve time in the spa and select your treatments when you arrive. After your treatment, relax with a glass of tea, hand-selected to match your treatment by your therapist, who doubles as a trained tea sommelier. We bet Caesar didn't have it so good.

The Spa at Encore

Considered one of Las Vegas' ritziest resorts, it's no wonder that the Spa at Encore is also one of the best Las Vegas luxury spas. Decorated with glowing lanterns lining the hallways, a visit to this Las Vegas spa feels like something straight out of Eat, Pray, Love. Request to have your treatment (we love the body scrubs) in one of the garden spa suites, which offer in-room shower facilities and skylights that offer a rare dose of natural sunlight in this city's often-indoor paradise. Afterwards, relax on heated stone lounge chairs or curl up by the fire in the relaxation room.

Canyon Ranch SpaClub at The Venetian and The Palazzo

Sometimes, bigger can be better. Offering more than 80 treatment rooms and standing at an impressive 134,000 square feet, Canyon Ranch Spa Club at The Venetian and The Palazzo is the largest of all Las Vegas spas -- and actually, the largest in North America. Be sure to take time before or after your treatment to relax in Aquavana, a European thermal treatment area offering themed rain showers, a hammam, sauna and heated pools. If it's fitness you crave, don't miss the three-story Rock Climbing wall -- but we'd suggest trying it before you lather up with the massage oil!

Spa Bellagio at The Bellagio

Opt for a round-the-world menu of services at The Bellagio's Las Vegas spa, ranging from Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy, to Water Massage to Indian Head Massage and Thai Yoga Massage. Those who love deep tissue treatments will love Ashiatsu, a unique massage modality where therapists use bars above the table to support themselves as they massage you with thier feet. Trust us- the sensation is incredibly relaxing. If you aren't quite ready to "go there," opt for a luxurious Caviar Fusion Massage, bound to make your skin look and feel like a million dollars.

The Bathhouse at Mandalay Bay

While it's rare in Las Vegas, bigger isn't always better. Boasting just 12 rooms, the intimate Bathhouse is part of the exclusive THEHotel at Mandalay Bay. Based -- as one might guess from the name -- around water treatments, this Las Vegas spa offers slate walls, marble floors, and spectacular water features. We love the option of coupling several shorter treatments together to form a customized experience. Choose from a scrub and a customized bath, each 25 minutes. Care for a single treatment? We love the Creme Brulee body wrap and the Hot Spiced Rum Stone Massage, featuring cinnamon, clove and arnica essential oils. We get hungry just thinking about them!
