A Groupon-style coupon site called DealPop is expanding to offer coupons for a national audience, something that has long been missing in the online coupon space. Many of the deals are still with small-name companies that can ship products across the country. Confused? Watch my video on Groupon secrets.

Here are the first four national deals to give you a feel for DealPop.

  • Maple Sugar and Vermont Spice - $10 for $20 worth of maple syrup, candy, sugar and all sorts of related food products handmade in Vermont

  • Available Friday Oct. 22: Boston Tea Company - $10 for $20 worth of tea from the over 200 year-old company started during the historic Boston Tea Party

  • Available Monday Oct. 25: French Quarter Market - $15 for $30 worth of all things Fleur-de-Lis from New Orleans

  • Available Wednesday Oct. 27: Hawaii Coffee Company - $10 for $20 worth of freshly roasted gourmet coffees from Hawaii

Shipping may be included in some deals, it depends on the particular merchant. If charges apply, shipping costs will be determined by weight, size, and shipping distance.

DealPop is a so-called social deal site because a certain number of people have to buy into the deal for it to be "on". A limited number of coupons are available and the discounts are usually available for between 48 and 72 hours. If you are comfortable jumping on the bandwagon, the discounts are usually for 40-70% off and are open to anyone in the U.S.

DealPop is a service of the WhitePages, Inc. and initially offered local deals in Los Angeles, Seattle, and San Francisco. Check back later today and through the week for more great deals at WalletPop.com.
