Man Found Dead In Bathroom of Plane

A passenger has been found dead in the bathroom of a Gulf Air plane. The Filipino man was discovered by crew doing last-minute checks before landing.

Bizarrely it's the same flight from Bahrain to Manila, Gulf Air Flight 154, on which a Filipino maid delivered a baby in September – the baby survived after being found by cleaning staff in the plane's trash bin.

The 36-year-old Filipino man was not as lucky. Police are investigating the case as a suicide.

Flight attendants found the man unconscious and with a cord tied around his neck, about 15 minutes before landing in Manila, The Associated Press reports.

Crew members and a nurse on the flight administered CPR but were unable to revive the man. He was pronounced dead by medical authorities at Manila International Airport.

Witnesses said the man appeared restless during the flight. According to Octavio Lina, the Manila airport's manager, the man was returning home after working for three months as an electrician in Abu Dhabi.

The dead man's wife and relatives were at the airport to meet him. "It was difficult to break the news to his family," Lina said.
