Adventure Activities in Acapulco - Try if You Dare
1. Cave & Wreck Diving
Among the various fun activities Acapulco holds for its visitors are snorkeling and scuba diving. Acapulco Scuba Center is a good place to start. Advanced divers who're looking for a bit more daring underwater trips can look forward to some quite challenging spots. On the southern end of the Isla de la Roqueta, you can dive through rock formations that give you the impression that you are diving through a cave. It's an excellent spot for watching fish, as they don't detect divers.
A sunken Argentinean ship in the middle of the bay is an interesting spot to get some wreck-diving experience. It's been there since 1944, and has long been conquered by local marine life.
November to February is Acapulco's best diving season with respect to visibility and water temperature, but tours and courses are offered throughout the year for visitors looking for underwater travel adventures.

A package offer includes a photo (30 minutes), or a photo and a video (1 hour) taken while you're swimming and playing with the animals.

3. Discover the Coyuca Lagoon
Acapulco guarantees one thing above all: lots of fun on the beach. However, it also holds a real treasure still unknown to many of its vacationers: just a short drive north, visitors find themselves in a completely different world, full of fascinating mangrove jungles and stunning species of birds. No wonder that the enormous freshwater Coyuca Lagoon, with its side arms and islands, was chosen as a location for many movies.
You can walk through the mangroves over wooden suspension bridges or ride on a boat. Most Acapulco-based tour operators offer excursions to the lagoon. For individual tours, personal guides can be hired directly at Pie de la Cuesta.

4. Deep Sea Fishing
Acapulco is famous for its sport fishing; it's not uncommon to catch five-foot-long sailfishes or a nice variety of smaller species, such as tuna or dorada. Various companies offer fishing tours. For an adventurous day in Acapulco and a change from inactive beach life, get up with the sun and leave the tourist crowds behind. Caught fish are prepared for you right onboard. However, for those who are more interested in trophies, some companies also offer taxidermy services.
5. Acapulco Disco Night
Acapulco has been legendary for its nightlife ever since Hollywood's jet set started flocking here for vacations in the 1940s and 1950s. A classic night out on the town should definitely be on the agenda of anyone looking for adventure activity in Acapulco! Once night falls and the colorful lights illuminate the beautiful bay, it gets busy on the coastal avenue, the Costera Miguel Alemán, or simply "Costera." The shopping malls, bars and restaurants along Acapulco's main thoroughfare fill up with crowds of all ages, and as it gets late, the nightclubs open their doors. Acapulco's discos are legendary. Among them, the Palladium is somewhat outstanding. Its privileged location on a hill offers a spectacular view over the colorfully illuminated bay right from the dance floor.
