Happy Hour in Los Angeles
Rightfully named the "Drunk Bar", Borracho Cantina sits proudly on West Hollywood's Sunset Boulevard at the very chic Sunset Plaza. The rather large venue is big enough to keep you from waiting in line and has outside seating overlooking Sunset Boulevard.
This Mexican cantina hosts two happy hour specials daily, from 3PM to 6PM and then again from 10PM to 1AM. All drinks are offered at two for the price of one, and their taco bar is a gourmet fiesta with $3, $4 and $5 tacos. On the happy hour menu are roasted duck tacos, barbecued short rib tacos, and lamb tacos. They are guaranteed to keep your mouth watering - but nothing a little margarita can't help.
Borracho Cantina, 8570 Sunset Boulevard, West Hollywood, (310) 289-8809. Hours: daily 11:30AM-2AM.
2. RH at the Andaz Hotel
Who says cool hotels have to be snobby and overpriced? One of the most posh boutique hotels on Sunset Boulevard is the Andaz, owned by the Hyatt chain. Yes, celebrities frequent the hotel's happy hour restaurant, RH. Yes, the interiors would make a diva cry. Yes, the pool area looks like a scene out of a Bret Easton Ellis novel.
Any day of the week you can catch happy hour specials at the Andaz from 4PM to 7PM. Their specialty cocktails and wines by the glass are $9 and their beers are $5. That's cheap for happy hour in the Los Angeles area! The happy hour menu offers French-style cuisine with dishes ranging from $6-$9. You can nibble on truffle oil fries, a selection of cow's and goat's cheese, or sauteed shrimp with garlic and parsley.

4. The Edison
So you're tired of going to the same old local bar, the same old happy hour in Los Angeles? Well if you haven't been to The Edison then you haven't quite experienced the best happy hour in Los Angeles. Located downtown in the former Southern California Edison building, this happy hour restaurant is a page out of a 40s fashion magazine. The art deco decor is as sophisticated as the cocktails.
On Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5PM to 7PM, stop by for the Edison happy hour featuring 35 cent martinis (yes, that's true!) and 40 percent off all vintage cocktails, tap beer, and well drinks. There is a $1 Centennial cocktail offered during this time as well. Wednesday through Friday you can take advantage of their happy hour menu, which offers $5 Kobe beef sliders, grilled cheese sandwiches and vegetable paninis, all served with fries.
The Edison, 108 West 2nd Street #101, Los Angeles, (213) 613-0000. Hours: Wed-Fri 5pm-2AM, Sat 8PM-2AM.
Westwood is far from the buzz of Sunset Boulevard, but this happy hour restaurant can stand up to the best of them. With two happy hours Monday through Saturday 3PM to 7PM and 9PM to midnight, and then another on Sunday 3PM to 9PM, there's little chance that you'll miss a good deal when dining here.
For $2.50 you can dine on Napa fish tacos and natural beef sliders from the happy hour menu. $4 will get you pretzel gnocchi, and for $5, try the popular creamy mac n' cheese with applewood smoked bacon, cheddar, roasted tomatoes, broccoli, chicken, and chili.
