Justin Timberlake Real Estate Deals Out of Sync

Justin Timberlake wants out of his New York City home, which has a part-time doorman, reportedly because the Tribeca loft is just not private enough. So instead of waiting to sell before moving on, he has signed a contract for a $7.65 million, three-bedroom, 2,598-square-foot penthouse condo at Soho Mews on Manhattan's West Broadway. Timberlake also listed his place in Tribeca for $5.25 million, reported Luxist.

The New York Post speculates that Timberlake, who has a supporting role in the recently released movie, "The Social Network," about the Facebook founders, is making the move because he tired of paparazzi who would line the block and cobblestone street waiting for an appearance by him and girlfriend Jessica Biel. Although his neighbors probably grew weary of it, too, we at HousingWatch have a different theory for his move.
A year ago Timberlake obtained a stop-harassment order against Karen McNeil, who trespassed on his Los Angeles property -- an incident that more than likely has the "too sexy" balladeer even more concerned for his privacy.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Timberlake says that McNeil "has repeatedly shown up uninvited at my place of residence, going so far as to ignore the gate and security fence surrounding my property, bypassing the security entrance ... and gaining entry into my home without my knowledge or permission."

If trespassing can happen at a gated mansion, surely persistent fans can at least make it to the key-locked elevator bank of the multiunit Pearline Soap Factory building, which has only one apartment per floor. So this is our guess as to one of the reasons Timberlake wants out of his three-bedroom, 3,000-square-foot Tribeca home, which has 14 floor-to-ceiling arched windows, and 11-foot ceilings.

system, temperature, and window shades can all be manipulated with the touch of a button, according to the listing by celebrity agent Adam Modlin. In 2008, Timberlake paid $4,774,574 (down from an original price of $6.75 million), according to city records and Curbed.

The SoHo Mews building with 68 condos, is more secure and has more amenities. "It is a wonderful full-service building, is very popular and beautifully finished," says the penthouse's listing agent Shelley O'Keefe of the Corcoran Group. She would not confirm the buyer of the penthouse, but her listing was updated as "in contract." She told HousingWatch that there still are other units for sale in the 2007-built building: "The market is picking up nicely and our building is very, very busy. We have 20 apartments left to sell."

The penthouse has an 853-square-foot wrap terrace, a 20-by-31-foot living room, and a marble master bath with a radiant heat floor. The second and third bedrooms also feature en suite bathrooms, according to the listing.

Although Timberlake is simultaneously maintaining both of these New York City homes, odds are he'll also hold on to his Los Angeles abode, where last year he installed a five-hole indoor golf course and reportedly built a backyard treehouse.
