If you save money buying off-brand ink cartridges and toner, this HP ink coupon for 20% off may convince you to pay more for HP ink. Expires Oct. 31, 2010. To get the coupon, either share a horror story about cheapo ink or take a three question quiz about the differences between brand name and generic ink cartridges.

The answers are shocking! Not. HP disses generic ink and toner as poor-performing, bad for the environment, and short-lasting. While the quality of generic printer ink and toner cartridges varies widely, I have had good luck with the ink I've found on Amazon. As for generics being bad for the environment, it's really up to the user to recycle them or not. I have never checked if my cartridges put out as many pages as they claim, so I won't touch HP's argument that their cartridges print 65% more pages than "bargain inks."

After you take the quiz, share your name, e-mail, city, state and phone number to get your coupon emailed to you. You must sign up for their e-mail list and agree to let HP contact you about your story, if you shared one. The coupon is valid for an online purchases through Oct. 31, 2010.

Caveats: maximum of 5 ink cartridge products per coupon. Photo Value Packs are not included in this offer. One time use only. One coupon code per order. Valid only for purchases on HP Direct.com and through the HP call center (888-999-4747).
