Friday Freebies: Advil, cookie, health screening and make up!

Advil boxYou're in for a nice bunch of freebies this Friday, from a free bottle of Advil and a free cookie at Quiznos, to free Estee Lauder foundation and a free health check up at Sam's Club. Seems like retailers are pulling out all the stops!

Get a free bottle of Advil -- not just a sample size -- when you share your name, address, e-mail, date of birth and sex. The form also asks if there are children under age 18 in your household. Joining Advil's e-mail lists is not required to get the freebie. Advil is giving away 500,000 freebies, so this offer will probably last a day or so. After signing up, look for a coupon for the freebie in the mail one to three weeks later. The coupon is valid for either a 24-count bottle of Advil tablets or a 20-count bottle of Advil Liqui-Gels. The freebie is part of a larger, ongoing campaign to persuade people to switch from Tylenol to Advil. Caveats: no purchase necessary. This offer is limited to the first 500,000 eligible U.S. registrants. One coupon request per household. You must be a U.S. resident age 18 or older to receive the coupon, which is only valid in the 50 United States and the District of Columbia. The coupon expires on Jan. 31, 2011.

Take home a 10-day supply of free foundation from Estee Lauder now until the end of the month. Just stop by your local Estee Lauder counter and ask about using their iMatch System to find the shade of liquid foundation that is ideal for you. No coupon needed, though you can say you saw the event promoted on Facebook. Caveats: while supplies last. One per customer.

Get a Quiznos coupon for a free cookie when you join their QClub loyalty program and take a 10-question survey. (If you are not already a QClub member, join, then click the link above). No purchase is required, but the quiz will take you about three minutes. Quiznos makes you work for this freebie! The free cookie coupon expires Oct. 18, 2010. The quiz asks for your zip code, how long you have been a Quiznos customer, your favorite menu item, how many items per month you eat at Quiznos, what motivates you to join their free club, if you follow Quiznos on Facebook or Twitter, the location of your favorite store, if you have children, your sex and your profession. Phew! Caveats: the coupon is only valid at participating locations, one coupon per person per order, may not be valid on custom orders, order requirements and delivery fees may apply.

Sam's Club is offering free health screenings -- to members and non-members alike -- tomorrow, Oct. 9, 2010, from 11a.m. to 3 p.m. Get your cholesterol, glucose and blood pressure checked with results in about 15 minutes. The free health screenings are available at all Sam's Clubs that have a pharmacy. No pharmacy? No screening. Flu shots cost extra, about $24 per prick, and include the H1N1 vaccine. Non-members can get the flu shot, too. Double check if each location is also giving flu shots. As far as flu shots go, $24 is in the mid-range of the best prices for flu shots.

Get a free solar oven DVD that covers how to set up and use a solar oven courtesy of Utah Sun Ovens, a company that makes solar ovens but does not sell them directly. The DVD normally costs $13 plus shipping. Share your name, address and e-mail to get the freebie. It's unclear how many DVDs they are giving away. The DVD has tips -- like always cook with a dark pot -- and has basic guidelines for first timers. It also includes recipes to bake bread, make gumbo and bake cookies. Aside from cooking, did you know a solar oven can dry fruit and help plants sprout in winter?

Get a free waffle at Waffle House as part of a promotion for the upcoming movie "Due Date" with Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis (the odd brother-in-law from Hangover.) One of the characters in the flick does not eat waffles, so the idea is that you get to eat his. Make sure to print the coupon and hand it to your server when ordering. Expires Nov. 1, 2010. Waffle House has 1,590 restaurants in 25 states. Find a Waffle House near you. Caveats: dine in only. One coupon per customer per visit. Cannot be combined with any other offer.

Pledge to take care of your skin to get a free sample of Eucerin lotion. The catch is that the freebie is through Facebook, so you will need to log in or create a profile to access the coupon. Click the link above, then "like" the Eucerin Facebook page. Navigate to the tab that says SkinFirst Pledge and click on the red "get sample now" button. Share a little info about yourself and you are good to go. Caveats: expect the free sample to take a few weeks to arrive. While supplies last.

Get a free sample of Tide Acti-Lift detergent through Target when you answer three questions about your laundry habits and share your name, address, and email. You can opt into their e-mail list if you wish. Tide Acti-Lift claims to remove dry stains as if they were still fresh. That's a big claim - I'll believe it when I see it! Caveats: you must be 13 years or older to receive this sample. One per household. While supplies last.
