Right after Fisher-Price announced its massive recall last week because of injuries and safety concerns, New Jersey sent consumer affairs inspectors across the state to check that retailers, including Walmart, Target, Toys R Us and Kmart, had pulled the items from their shelves. They had.

The surprise inspections at 11 large retailers all showed the recalled toys and children's products were off the shelves and each store had recall notices posted and the sales registers programmed to not scan the recalled Fisher-Price items.
