Stephen Cannell, 'A-Team' and 'Rockford Files' Producer, Dies at 69

Stephen J. Cannell, who produced TV shows such as The A-Team, The Rockford Files and The Commish died Thursday at his Pasadena, Calif., home, the Associated Press reported. He was 69.

Cannell, who also wrote many of the shows, died from complications stemming from melanoma, the wire service said, citing a statement from Cannell's family.

In addition to The A-Team and The Rockford Files, Cannell's writing or producing credits include 21 Jump Street, Hardcastle and McCormick and Tenspeed and Brown Shoe.

Cannell started his career writing scripts for shows such as Adam 12 and Ironside, according to the AP.
