Allergy danger: Hostess recalls chocolate chip muffins
The banana muffins contain walnuts that are not listed on the packaging and can cause potentially severe reaction in anyone who is allergic. The chocolate chip muffins don't contain walnuts. So far no one has reported getting sick from the mispackaged muffins.
No other Hostess products are in the recall. The packages are stamped "Best By: OCT 31 $7.98/lb $3.99" and printed below that is 62 259, a capital letter, a time stamp and then 1029,
Consumers can take the muffins back to where they bought them for a refund or call Hostess for a refund coupon at (800) 483-7253, weekdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
This is the second time in a week a product was recalled because a different food was packaged. General Mills recalled certain boxes of Nature Valley Dark Chocolate Flavor Granola Thins because Peanut Butter Flavor Granola Thins were mistakenly put in the boxes.
