Free ice cream at Coldstone Thursday, September 30

From 5-8 p.m. on Sept. 30, 2010 get a free scoop of ice cream at Coldstone Creamery. The free ice cream is a concoction called "Katie's Creation," named after the little girl who dreamed up this flavor. It includes caramel apple ice cream with chocolate shavings, graham cracker pie crust, and apple pie filling.

On second thought, maybe I'll pony up money for chocolate.

The free serving is 3 ounces -- not huge, but who's complaining? The freebie is part of a fundraiser for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, which helps make wishes come true for sick kids. Roughly 85% of all the donations Coldstone receives in September go to the foundation.

Caveats: waffle products and extra mix-ins cost extra. While supplies last. No substitutions. One freebie per customer.
