Happy Hour in Fort Lauderdale
1. T Mex
This small, Mexican-themed local bar and restaurant is a popular spot for happy hour in Fort Lauderdale. Happy hour specials here include buy-one-get-one-free drinks from 4PM-8PM and 4PM-10PM on Wednesdays. It gets pretty crowded on Taco Tuesdays, when T Mex offers 2 for 1 tacos in addition to the drinks special. If you're into Mexican food, don't leave without trying their hot sauces, which range from mild to serious to stupid. The general atmosphere is cozy, and is a nice break from the loud music you have to endure in nightclubs.
T Mex, 204 Southwest 2nd Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL, 954.463.2003.
Poorhouse is a small, laid-back, easily overlooked hole in the wall with live music Thursday through Sunday. Happy hour specials are offered on Monday and Friday from 5PM-8PM, and if you're in the mood for karaoke, join them for "Scary-Okie" on Wednesdays and they'll give you a free shot if you sing. They also have a great selection of interesting beers at a decent price.

3. The Gallery at Beach Place
If you want to find Fort Lauderdale happy hour restaurants close to the beach, head to Beach Place, which is on the A1A a little north of the main highway, I-595. There are various local bars and restaurants, with several live bands playing at different establishments. I recommend grabbing a quick pitcher of your favorite beer at Hooters, and then heading over to Fat Tuesdays for a frozen cocktail. Fat Tuesdays also offers happy hour specials including $2 domestic beers, $3 imports, and $5 daiquiris from 4PM-9PM Monday through Friday.
