FarmVille: Send one billion gifts and Zynga will donate another $100k to Haiti

In just four days, FarmVille's School of Choice campaign for Haiti has reached its goal of 400 million virtual gifts exchanged. These gifts were part of a Limited Edition collections feature, where no purchases were required. By simply playing FarmVille, players were able to contribute. Zynga will now fulfill its promise to send $100,000 USD to "L' Ecole de Choix", a new K-12 school and community center that they're building in Mirebalis, Haiti. Additional funding will also be provided from sales of the virtual Sweet Beets; plus, Facebook is willing to give up their earnings from those sales as well, and as you can see in the above image, the total of player donations has risen to $561,461 USD.

Now Zynga has set a new benchmark -- if players reach the exchange of 1 billion virtual gifts, then Zynga will sent another $100,000 USD to the school.
