The Big Money's Ledbetter Lands at Thomson Reuters

James Ledbetter, the founding editor of the recently-shuttered business news website The Big Money, has landed a new gig. Ledbetter is headed to Thomson Reuters, where he'll editor in charge of Reuters.com. He confirmed the move to DailyFinance and said the position is a new one created as part of a broader reorganization of the Web team. (PaidContent beat us to the punch with the news.)

Like its rival, Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters has stacking its roster with big-name journalistic talent, snapping up people like Financial Times U.S. editor Chrystia Freeland and Jim Impoco, previously of Conde Nast Portfolio and The New York Times. Before Slate hired him to launch The Big Money in 2008, Ledbetter worked for CNNMoney.com and, earlier, for The Industry Standard, an experience he wrote about in the book Starving to Death on $200 Million.

Ledbetter's new job starts Oct. 4.
