Midland Farms of Menands, N.Y., is recalling a number of milk products due to potentially improper pasteurization, New York State Agriculture Commissioner Patrick Hooker announced. Pasteurization heats milk to eliminate pathogenic bacteria, such as Listeria and Salmonella.

The recalled milk products are sold in plastic containers and marketed under the brand names Midland Farms, Corrado's Market, Jersey Dairy Farms and Trade Fair Premium. All the recalled milk is stamped with the plant code 36-1661, as well as a black date code near the top of the container.
