Is Derek Jeter's NYC Apartment Worth $20 Million?

Updated

Derek Jeter is hoping to hit another home run, but this one won't be for the first-place Yankees. Rather, the superstar shortstop is swinging for the bleachers by listing his Manhattan penthouse apartment, which went on sale today, for an ambitious $20 million, according to the New York Post. Jeter, 36, bought his bachelor pad in Trump World Tower directly from Donald Trump in October 2001 for $12.6 million, without an agent (see photos below). The four-bedroom, 5 1/2-bath apartment near the United Nations is 5,425 square feet and features 16-foot picture windows with a view of the East River. Jeter is in the last year of a 10-year contract with the Yankees, though he reportedly is expected to re-sign with the Yanks at the end of the season. Jeter, who is currently dating "Friday Night Lights" actress Minka Kelly, is preparing to move into a 30,875-square-foot, seven-bedroom home on Davis Island in Tampa, Fla. The baseball hero has played for the Bronx Bombers his entire 15-year pro career. Will his high-end aerie catch a breeze, despite the current luxury real estate slump?
