Office retailer Staples (SPLS) will sell Amazon's (AMZN) Kindle device in its stores starting this fall.

Staples will carry the Kindle, Kindle 3G and Kindle DX models of the reading device, the company said in a statement. Prices will range from $139 to $379.

"As part of our efforts to offer customers a wide range of top technology products and services at amazing values, the new Kindle is a natural fit," Staples executive vice president Jevin Eagle said.

The Kindle is Amazon.com's best-selling product. It wirelessly downloads books, magazines and other documents and displays them on a screen that mimics the appearance of paper.

Amazon has aggressively cut the price of the Kindle to compete with Apple's (AAPL) iPad.
