Top Aide to Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Hurd Resigns

A top aide to former Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) CEO Mark Hurd resigned abruptly.

Caprice Fimbres McIlvaine, formerly head of internal communications at the company, resigned effective Aug. 9, three days after Hurd's departure, Fortune reported. McIlvaine acted as "something of a chief of staff to Hurd", accompanying him on business trips and organizing gatherings of top customers, Fortune said.

McIlvaine, 37, played a key role in hiring Jodie Fisher, the woman whose sexual harassment claim against Hurd set in motion the events that eventually led to his resignation. Fisher, 50, worked as a contractor for the company's marketing department.
