Visit National Parks for Free This Weekend

If you've been procrastinating on a summer visit to a national park you may want to note that this weekend you can get in for free.

The National Park Service designates a few fee-free days each year, and August 14-15 is on this year's list.

The free deal is good at more than 100 national parks that usually charge entrance fees, including the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Yosemite and the Everglades.

You save the regular fee of $25 per vehicle for entrance to the Grand Canyon, for instance. Some national park concessionaires are also offering special deals.

If you can't make it this weekend, pencil in Public Lands Day on September 25 or Veteran's Day on November 11, which are also free days.
