Real Housewives Cruise Italy on Costa
Together with their family members – a party of 20 in all – the Housewives joined the Italian ship in Venice on its maiden voyage. The scenes were actually filmed last February.
On last week's episode, the 2,260-passenger ship was one of the stars with plenty of shots of shipboard activities and amenities. This week promises more.
But all is not quiet on the high seas.
Among other things, there is a dining scene with a very grouchy child – one of Teresa's brood – and Jacqueline and Teresa take over the stage in the ship's piano bar, much to the chagrin of fellow passengers.
"To say it wasn't a flattering portrait of a Costa Cruise is to be polite," a Jaunted.com blogger writes.
Still, the cruise line, which is owned by Carnival Corporation, seems pleased with its portrayal, putting out a press release that announces, "Housewives Teresa Giudice, Jacqueline Laurita and Caroline Manzo took a well-deserved getaway from the drama of the series' second season by cruising with Costa from Venice to Naples."
The line was "thrilled" to welcome them onboard, says Maurice Zarmati, president and CEO of Costa Cruises.
"They really made the most of the vacation experience by taking in the sights of Venice while ashore and relaxing onboard with spa treatments, Blackjack games in the casino and dancing in the disco," Zarmati says. "You could tell they were very close and family oriented."
