Virgin America Adds Service to Dallas-Fort Worth

Virgin America says it will soon begin flying to Dallas-Fort Worth, its 12th destination. And the low-cost carrier is celebrating the new service with a fare sale.

The California-based airline will fly to DFW from Los Angeles, beginning December 1; and from San Francisco, beginning December 6. Plans are for two daily round-trip flights on each route.

Connecting service will be offered from Las Vegas, Seattle and San Diego.

The new service will add "a breath of fresh air" for DFW travelers, Virgin America President and CEO David Cush says in a press release.

"Before today, travelers along these routes had little choice and we think a little healthy competition is always a good thing – especially for consumers," Cush says.

To kick off the new route, the carrier has launched a "Texas Sized" three-day sale ending Aug. 12, across its network.

DFW sale fares are from $129 each way, or $149 on Fridays and Saturdays, for travel from start-up to February 15. Other sale fares are from $44 for short-haul flights such as Los Angeles to San Francisco, through November 17.
