Atlanta Real Estate: 15-Year-Old Listing Finally Sells for $10.5M

Updated

After 15 years on the market and a $25 million price reduction, Dean Gardens has finally sold. Built by Larry Dean, a self-made millionaire software executive, for his ex-wife Lynda, the 32,000-square-foot pink mansion was once considered Atlanta's biggest. The couple separated shortly after it was finished in 1992. The ornate estate includes an 18-hole golf course, a wedding chapel and an amphitheater, but the new buyer plans to raze the property recently purchased for around $10.5 million. Before then, its contents will be auctioned off, with the proceeds going to charity. Fifteen years is a long time to wait for a real estate deal, but a giant pink mansion isn't for everyone -- not even the buyer, apparently.
