Starbucks testing new iced green-coffee-based fruit drinks

Although Starbucks recently announced record third quarter earnings, it isn't sitting back contentedly and sipping a Venti Iced Caramel Macchiato. The chain is about to test a new type of cold drink made with powdered extract from unroasted green coffee.

It surely won't be as icky as it sounds. Starbucks' vice president of global beverage Julie Felss Masino told Reuters that these will be fruit drinks with less caffeine than its usual roasted-coffee offerings. The new drinks will also be low in calorie content.
