$30 million Bugatti car on display in California

Looking for a new car? Well search no further! You'll just need $30 million and a taste for antiques and royalty.

A 1936 Bugatti Type 57SC that recently sold for more than $30 million is now on display at the Mullin Automotive Museum in Oxnard, Calif.

The light blue Bugatti is one of only three ever made and was first purchased by Lord Victor Rothschild of London. But it apparently wasn't fast enough for the Lord, who sent it back to the factory in 1939 to be supercharged.

Since then, owners have included Dr. Peter Williamson, who bought the car in 1971 for $59,000 and restored it. The car sold in May to an unidentified buyer, who paid between $30 million to $40 million.

Volkswagen purchased the rights to produce cars under the Bugatti name in 1998. A new Bugatti Veyron is said to retail for around $1.6 million, not that their web site will tell you. Like mom used to say, if you have to ask, you can't afford it.
