Wendy's robber calls to complain about skimpy haul

Atlanta police are searching for a masked man who robbed a Wendy's store late Saturday night, but called back twice to complain about the size of his haul.

The unknown man approached the drive-through at the Wendy's, pointed a gun at the cashier and demanded the cash drawer. Then he sped away with what he might have believed was a wealth of cash. But, police say that the masked robber later called the Wendy's store twice to complain about the take. In one call, he said "next time there better be more than $586."

No one knows when the next time an Atlanta Wendy's will be robbed, but there is a history of burglaries in the area. On June 13, five gunmen broke through the glass doors and held up a Wendy's employee at gunpoint. After acquiring the store cash, the men fled in a getaway car. Police later followed the trail of blood to uncover the cell phone of one of the robbers, who had apparently been cut while breaking through the glass doors.
