Fairmont Hotel Guests Borrow BMW Bikes for Free

For those who like to explore on two wheels, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts is expanding a program offering guests free access to BMW Cruise Bikes.

A fleet of the bicycles is already in place at the hotel company's Canadian properties, thanks to an agreement with the German automaker, and is being expanded this summer to the company's properties across the U.S. These include The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, Fairmont Chicago and Boston's Fairmont Battery Wharf.

The idea, the company says is to enhance the guest experience and help travelers stay fit away from home.

In addition to the state-of-the-art Cruise Bikes, the hotels will also have some child-sized BMW Junior Cruise Bikes, so families can ride together. Lock and helmets are also being provided.

"BMW's stylish Cruise Bikes have proven to be very popular at our hotels in Canada, so we are excited to extend this unique new service offering to our guests in the U.S.," said Brian Richardson, Fairmont's Vice President, Brand Marketing & Communications.

The hotel company is of course also touting the fact bikes are a Green option to touring.

Members of the Fairmont President's Club (FPC), the brand's guest loyalty program, will get priority access when reserving the bikes (you can join the program for free).

Fairmont has 19 properties in the U.S., 60 worldwide.
