Men Accused of Beating Up Porky Pig at Six Flags
According to Chicago media outlets, Taras Sikalchuk, 20, and Dmytro Petrychenko, 19, took a photo with a female employee dressed as the "Looney Tunes" character and then punched the mascot in the head 10 to 15 times.
The Sun-Times Media Wire reports both men were employees of the park, visiting on their day off.
The men were issued citations for battery, ejected from the park and later fired. The suspects denied the attack, but witnesses confirmed the incident, police said.
The 24-year-old woman in the "Porky Pig" costume did not require hospitalization, but was taken to a first aid station where she reportedly complained of a headache and stiff neck.
Gurnee Police Sgt. Jon Ward told news outlets that while the mascots are accompanied by a security guard, such attacks occur once or twice a year.
Six Flags spokeswoman Meredith Kelleher said in a statement the two men had "clearly violated" the park's Guest Code of Conduct.
